"Okay I just want to scream to the world how awesome it is!! and the menthol feels amazing when its a warm day out!" ~Jonathon Zinn

What's Inside?

Allantoin: a naturally ocurring nitrogenous compound used as a skin conditioning agent. It can be derived from animals, however the allantoin we use is derived from plants.

Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides: from coconut oil and glycerin, it’s considered an excellent emollient. It’s included in cosmetics due to its mix of fatty acids that skin can use to resist moisture loss. This ingredient’s value for skin is made greater by the fact that it’s considered gentle.

Vegetable Glycerine: is derived from soy and is used in cosmetics and body care products to assist in retaining moisture. It is invaluable as a natural source ingredient with emollient like properties which can soften the skin.

"I Love your (Star) Jellies! Keeps my dry face moisturized all day. Great for the winter time." ~Burke Bair

But what's with the name Doug?

Finally, someone asked! Lol, well most of you know I have my head in the stars these days but aside from that you also know I love a good myth or conspiracy...well, wouldn't you know Star Jelly has it's roots in both!

Star jelly (also called astromyxinastral jelly) is a gelatinous substance sometimes found on grass or even on branches of trees. According to folklore, it is deposited on the Earth during meteor showers. Star jelly is described as a translucent or grayish-white gelatin that tends to evaporate shortly after having “fallen.” - Hmmmmm, sounds awefully familiar, no?

There have been reports of 'star-jelly' for centuries. John of Gaddesden (1280–1361),for example, mentions stella terrae (Latin for 'star of the earth' or 'earth-star') in his medical writings, describing it as "a certain mucilaginous substance lying upon the earth". A fourteenth-century Latin medical glossary has an entry for uligo, described as "a certain fatty substance emitted from the earth, that is commonly called 'a star which has fallen'". Similarly, an English-Latin dictionary from around 1440 has an entry for "sterre slyme" with the Latin equivalent given as assub (a rendering of Arabic ash-shuhub, also used in medieval Latin as a term for a "falling" or "shooting" star).

The Oxford English Dictionary lists a large number of other names for the substance, with references dating back to the circa-1440 English-Latin dictionary entry mentioned above: star-fallen, star-falling, star-jelly, star-slime, star-slough, star-slubber, and star-slutch.

And right up my alley...

A long article in the paranormal magazine Fate declared star jelly to be of extraterrestrial origin, calling it "cellular organic matter" which exists as "prestellar molecular clouds" which float through space.

Then there was that Italo Calvino element too that all too reminded me of something out of his classic Cosmicomics...a book I gobbled up in my youth!

So clearly this was the perfect name for this most Space-tacular new Aftershave Jelly!

If you have been looking for a product that provides the best of both worlds, both worlds being a balm and traditional splash, Star Jelly is it!

Listing for one sample packet, good for multiple uses.
