It's back folks, Garden of Bali 2.0! (You're welcome!)
Scent Profile: Flighty top notes of lime, lemon, grapefruit, orange, orange blossom and sea salt. Middle notes of ambergris, seaweed and ozone. Base notes of amber, moss, benzoin, Cedar and bamboo.
Within the first week of discontinuing this Phoenix Shaving Classic the hate mail began. It was clear a small following around "Bali" had begun. Fran and I would jokingly refer to the write in campaign as "missives of the Cult of Bali". The thing is, the demand and enthusiasm for "GOB" never really died out. The only real reason we discontinued it was to make room for some new scents.
Fast forward to 2020...yup, the year of suck. Having to cancel the Big Shave S'west and then one thing after another, Fran and I agreed we should focus on bringing a little more joy to the world. It truly seems in short supply, no? Well if we couldn't finally take a real vacation this year...oh yeah, that was cancelled too, but I digress...we would look back through our catalog and reboot some of the classics! So far we have brought back a hanful with new, little tweaks here and there. Garden of Bali, follows this trend and has also been...updated!
It is always a great pleasure to return to an old scent and add something new or remove something that never really worked, though not realized at the time. It's only natural that we have grown as artisans and gotten better at our craft, and that is essentially what these reboots are all about; a second chance to really get it right. After all, we owe it to our original blends from yesteryear considering they got us where we are now!
If you were a fan of Garden of Bali before, you are going to really love our latest rendition and treatment of the accord. Do not be led astray by all the citrus notes in the top of the fragrance, though it is a refreshing, immediate burst, the shape completely begins to twist and turn in on itself. Somewhere in between the ocean and the natural bamboo wall of the orange blossoming jungle your nose is beachcombing; Barefoot and sifting through driftwood, seaweed, cedar, cirtrus and sand. This is a warm, exotic and curious summer scent...but you'll wear it all year I know!

CUBE - 8 ounces and 6 sides of solid otherworldliness. CUBE is not your everyday preshave. CUBE takes your shave to another dimension adding extra protection, hydration, slickness and glide. A powerhouse of slick with a kick of Banana Oil!
Why is Preshave Soap BETTER Than Preshave Oil?
Well first off, as with anything in life, it all comes down to personal preference. I can tell you why I think it's better, but in the end, do what works for you! First off, unlike using oil, a Preshave Soap will not gunk up your gear and rinses away easy.
I was seriously turned off by all the clean up involved when using oils. Plus I was always concerned about it getting into my favorite brushes undetected and going rancid. Also, applying oil with your hands then holding onto a blade is not the safest move in my book. [That said, if you currently use an oil, apply it with your non-shaver hand!] In short, Preshave Oils inspired me to find a better way!

The release of CUBE has been a long time coming. For those who are privy to the PAA Universe, you may have seen CUBE hovering in the background on different labels and in ads...observing. I have read a few interpretations by folks in the forums who have noticed CUBE's appearances and have been flummoxed. What Does it Mean? [I super appreciate that folks are becoming more hip to the universe in our labels!]
What Strange Shave Tech is This?
It's great to finally bring CUBE to life for people to interface with! Holding it in your hand you can almost feel a force, an energy pulsating, drawing you in.
