1K = 1000 Members of the HTGAM G+ Community Forum! That's right folks, our humble little community has finally hit 1000 members and in celebration of such a momentous occasion I have created a very, very special aftershave/cologne, 1K! I'd like to thank all the guys and gals of the community that make it such a special place...this one's for you!

I figured 1000 folks is Good n Plenty...so with that in mind I decided to use that classic candy scent as the top note. Interestingly enough, the smell of Good n Plenty seems to be an aphrodisiac to women...you're welcome.

Top notes: anise, beeswax absolute, rose, lavender, lemon, bergamot

Mid notes: jasmine, licorice, cedar, pine, patchouli

Base notes: amber, dark musk, vanilla bean, vetiver A nice healthy dose of hedione too!

Be Sure To Pair w/ Our Long Lasting 1K Aftershave/Cologne HERE!

For thousands of years, Eastern and Western cultures have turned to licorice when the libido is lacking. Licorice contains phytoestrogen sterols, which affect sex hormones (estrogen and testosterone levels), although exactly how and to what degree has not yet been fully determined. Some believe that the strong smell of licorice may be a factor. When Dr. Alan Hirsch of the Chicago Smell and Taste Treatment Research Foundation hit the candy store to find out which smells sexually appealed to people, he found that women were aroused by the smell of (oddly enough) Good n' Plenty.

I also added Hedione too, to seal the deal!  Hedione? Although it has long been debated whether humans can actually communicate via pheromones - the chemical signals secreted by animals to help find a mate - Researchers have found that scent of Hedione generates ‘sex-specific activation patterns’ in the nasal tissue which links to the brain. It is the first time that a scent has been known to activate the pheromone receptor VN1R in humans.

“These results constitute compelling evidence that a pheromone effect different from normal olfactory perception indeed exists in humans,” says scent researcher Prof Hanns Hatt fro, Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany.

Hedione (chemical name methyl dihydro-jasmonate) – derived from the Greek word “hedone”, for fun, pleasure, lust – has a pleasant fresh jasmine-magnolia scent and is used in many perfumes.

It is synthesised from the organic compound methyl jasmonate which was discovered in 1957 and which is important in plants for seed germination, root growth, flowering, fruit ripening, and senescence.

This is seriously one of the most underrated scents on the shaving forums imo. It's much deeper than just licorice smell but it is one of the oddest scents you smell when you open the jar. This is also the absolute slickest soap I have whipped up made by PAA. I got this soap brand new in a lot on eBay a few weeks ago and was on the fence with it before using it. I kept going back and forth with putting it in my den and putting in back in my "to sell" box. I finally scooped a dollop out and whipped it up yesterday am for a head shave. I could not believe how slick it was, I dropped my razor three time during the process of my shave SUPER slick to say the least. It's an extremely complex scent that I think everyone should experience at least once, I think you will be pleased you decided to try it out.
