Razor Cleaning & Polishing Microfiber Cloth

$1.95 USD

Well, this was a long time coming & a no brainer! I stumbled upon using microfiber cleaning cloths as a maintenance solution completely by accident. Getting ready for a trip I found an old eye glass case that I thought to re-purpose as a razor travel kit. Inside the case was one of these magic little cloths, I thought it would be perfect to wrap the razor handle in for protection.

Days later in the hotel bathroom I saw the cloth clumped up and tossed to the side of my shave kit, it had served it's purpose...or had it. I noticed I hadn't cleaned my razor after that mornings shave and naturally grabbed the cloth and went to town. Damn, if that didn't get the job done and without water! When I was done the razor was buffed back to it's original sheen. From that day on I experimented with the cloth and cloths like it of different sizes and thickness. I tried wetting it, using toothpaste, etc and kept coming back to using it dry. When used immediately after a shave you get the best results.

How To Use?

Simply disassemble your razor after shave, if 2 or 3 piece. If a butterfly razor, simply open the silo doors and carefully remove the blade. Rinse off excess soap left over from shave, shake off, then polish dry with cloth...done. This simple act will greatly extend the life of your razor and keep it looking great!

The Benefits Of Cleaning With Microfiber

Microfiber technology may be the most significant product innovation to the cleaning industry in the last century. Microfiber material is a quick and easy switch toward helping preserve environmental resources. In using microfiber material, you'll find that the key benefits extend beyond your workers' wellness. It helps protect the environment by reducing both your contribution to the waste stream and the use of water and harmful chemicals. In some cases, microfiber can totally eliminate water and chemical usage.

What is Microfiber?

Microfibers are densely constructed polyester and polyamide (nylon) fibers that are approximately 1/16th the thickness of a human hair. When woven together, these fibers create a net-like surface area covered with millions of spaces to trap moisture, dirt and debris. The micro fibers are able to get into tiny nooks and crevices whereas the traditional cotton cloth and mop fibers are not. The nylon component of the fiber also produces a static charge that attracts dirt, pulling it in and trapping it until the cloth is washed.

  • Enhances cleaning power – microfiber cleans more effectively, reaching into surface pores and crevices, where cotton mop materials are too large for deep cleaning.

Caring for microfiber

Due to the nylon component in microfiber, high levels of heat will break down the fibers and ruin its effectiveness. It is recommended that microfiber be washed in temperatures that do not exceed 200 degrees. Most cleaning detergents can be used. However, adding bleach and fabric softener is not recommended. Drying temperatures should not exceed 140 degrees.

Very few chemicals can harm microfiber. However, it is important to avoid acids. Read the warning label on the chemical container. If the chemical indicates that it will harm plastics, it will most likely harm microfiber.

Do not wash microfiber with materials that are prone to lint. In the laundry cycle, the microfiber will collect the lint and be rendered ineffective.

By following these simple care instructions, microfiber can be laundered anywhere from 100-500 times and remain an effective cleaning tool.
